Friendly and outgoing individual who enjoys helping customers and resolving complaints in a professional manner. Self-motivated, able to multi-task, and works quickly to provide fast service. Responsible for motivating, training, and directing store staff, ensuring policies and safety regulations are followed, and maintaining daily operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide assertive leadership to assign and inspect tasks on the shift duty list.
- Maintain responsive communication with store management and assigned associates.
- Ensure policies, safety rules, and regulations are implemented and followed.
- Perform daily bookkeeping and bank deposits.
- Process customer transactions and participate in suggestive selling.
- Monitor cash control procedures, complete shift reports, and safeguard cash.
- Clean store interior and exterior, including sweeping, mopping, sanitizing restrooms, and picking up litter.
- Stock shelves, coolers, and displays both inside and outside the store.
- Prepare food following guidelines, operate food equipment, and adhere to food sanitation standards.
- Monitor safe temperatures, record waste, and maintain safety procedures, including fuel dispensing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a retail environment required, preferably in a lead position.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
- Basic math skills for making change and completing shift reports accurately.
- Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in processing point-of-sale transactions with minimal errors and troubleshooting minor issues.
- Able to perform daily bookkeeping and correct errors.
- Capable of lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and carrying up to 50 pounds; occasional use of a step ladder.
- Prolonged standing or walking (8–10 hours) on concrete or tile surfaces.
- Able to maintain store cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and shoveling snow.
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, alone or with others.
- Able to work in freezers and coolers (10°F) for up to 30 minutes at a time.
- Tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.
