Shift Supervisor

About the role

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Shift Supervisor plans and coordinates daily production activities, ensures quality and cost control, leads team training, analyzes production data, enforces safety and 5S standards, and drives continuous improvement in a high-volume automotive-glass manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities

• Organize and plan daily production activities according to production orders; coordinate work assignments across departments to ensure smooth production flow and on-time delivery.
• Assist Finance and Statistics departments with stocktaking, material reconciliation, and bonus management.
• Oversee production quality and cost control to meet company objectives and KPIs; supervise process execution, implement corrective actions for deviations, and maintain quality documentation for traceability and compliance.
• Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate daily production goals, quality standards, and safety reminders.
• Prepare and conduct initial, formal, and cross-functional training programs for operators, including evaluation follow-up; ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and consistent work discipline.
• Collect and analyze shift production data to assess performance, yield, and quality trends; report results to the Production Manager with data-driven recommendations for improvement.
• Verify accuracy of production reports and ensure data alignment between warehouse inventory and system records.
• Enforce 5S and visual management principles to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace; identify workplace hazards and implement control measures.
• Follow emergency procedures in case of accidents or abnormal conditions to minimize safety risks.
• Ensure strict implementation of integrated management system requirements and full compliance with company policies.
• Supervise the use and maintenance of production equipment and tools to ensure reliability and safety.
• Manage waste sorting and storage responsibly to support sustainability and environmental protection goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Design Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
• One year of experience in manufacturing operations within the automotive glass industry.
• Knowledge of automated production line processes, including laminated windshield packaging or similar automated manufacturing systems.
• Experience with industrial robotic operation, including basic teaching, reset, and trajectory adjustment of robotic systems (e.g., KUKA or equivalent).
• Knowledge of quality management processes, quality issue tracking and resolution, and on-site safety and 5S inspection systems.
• Ability to identify and respond to production process issues and coordinate with relevant teams to support production operations.
