Responsibilities
- Supervise the overall running of the site as directed by the Program Director.
- Responsible for the supervision and support for all Residential Aide staff.
- Oversee Residential Aide staffing for weekends, overnights, and as needed.
- Conduct Fire Drills as scheduled and work with program staff to ensure that fire safety procedures are followed; document these events as per DHS and CHI guidelines.
- Supervise and assist with client meals as per the site’s specific policies; ensure employees follow OTDA and DHS food safety guidelines.
- Provide limited crisis intervention and de-escalation to residents when necessary until professional staff can intervene; contact supervisor and/or proper authorities as needed.
- Prevent loss of income to CHI due to vacancy loss, lost shelter payments, or property damage; ensure the program provides quality services and complies with program requirements.
- Enforce CHI, site, and DSS policies, regulations, and rules with residents.
- Review video cameras and monitor areas consistently.
- Adhere to proper use of company resources (cell phones, office supplies, internet, etc.).
- Maintain professionalism and act as a model for other employees.
- Provide on-site training and feedback to staff and management regularly.
- Inform Building Superintendent of the work site’s physical condition (e.g., dangerous conditions, repair needs, supply needs).
- Act as a liaison with agencies responsible for referring eligible clients.
- Submit all internal and external reports in a timely and accurate manner as required by funding agencies and/or CHI (logs, notes, incident reports).
- Maintain logs, office, and site in an orderly fashion.
- Assist the management team in communication and serve as an on-call supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of verified experience working in homeless services can override the education requirement.
- 2+ years’ experience providing management services in social services or related fields.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in English required. Multi-lingual and Spanish proficiency preferred.
- First Aid/CPR Certification and Food Handler’s Certificate (must have upon hire or within 60 days).
- F-80 Fire Safety Coordinator certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Basic competency in MS Windows, MS Office, and the Internet.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), tour property, walk distances, and climb stairs (up to 3-4 flights).
- Ability to prioritize, make appropriate decisions, and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, be highly organized, assume responsibility, work well under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask.
- Must be even-tempered, have good negotiation skills, and the ability to meet unexpected deadlines.
- Effective time management skills.
Pay
$24.04 an hour (approx. $50,004 annually). Non-exempt; eligible for overtime.
Schedule
Saturday–Sunday: 8 AM–4 PM
Monday–Wednesday: 4 PM–12 AM
(Thursday and Friday off)
