About the role

As a Shift Operator at Lubrizol, you'll operate equipment and areas in the unit, ensuring safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient operations. You will execute and contribute to the unit work activity task list, perform rounds and field quality testing, troubleshoot process deviations, and participate in root cause investigations. This role involves training new personnel, monitoring key unit metrics, performing autonomous maintenance, and adhering to standard work processes and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rounds and field quality testing to monitor process equipment, product quality, and process conditions.
  • Execute assigned operational tasks using troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve process deviations.
  • Follow standard work processes and practices as outlined by the site and/or unit.
  • Participate in root cause investigations for unplanned events.
  • Train new unit operating personnel and share operational knowledge.
  • Ensure operations align with plant and business goals, making improvements based on personal knowledge and skills.
  • Monitor key unit metrics to maintain performance toward business goals.
  • Perform autonomous maintenance to prevent equipment failures and record asset utilization losses.
  • Develop skills and competencies for operator care activities.
  • Adhere to the Procedure Use Policy and safe work practices, including proper PPE usage.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills.
  • Available to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule (nights, weekends, holidays).
  • Willing/able to work outdoors in inclement weather (rain, hot/cold environments).
  • Must pass a manual dexterity exam; lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, pull, and push.
  • Ability to work with industrial equipment using proper PPE and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean-shaven appearance for respirator usage.
  • Stand, walk, or operate equipment for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate of Process Technology.
  • SAP and Delta-V process knowledge.
  • Leadership and technical skills.
  • Continuous process experience.

Location: Deer Park, TX. Full-time, on-site role with no travel required.
