About the Role
Cleveland-Cliffs, Coshocton Works, a stainless finishing operation and one of the nation’s leading producers of flat rolled stainless steel, is seeking an Operations Shift Manager to oversee operations in East Central Ohio.
Responsibilities
- Administer company policies and procedures.
- Supervise and provide work direction to hourly bargaining unit employees.
- Participate in and implement safety program goals to ensure a safe work environment by conducting safety contacts, observations, meetings, and audits.
- Adhere to the Quality Policy to promote continuous improvement of products, processes, and services.
- Attain results through effective planning, organizing, controlling, and assignment of priorities.
- Maintain consistent work performance under uncertain or unstructured conditions, even in high-stress situations.
- Identify problems, gather relevant information, and analyze effectively to make decisions with a clear focus on safety, quality, environmental, and productivity goals.
- Assist in the development, review, and update of JHSAs (Job Safety and Health Analysis) to eliminate safety hazards and QSOPs (Quality Standard Operating Procedures).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Supervisory experience in a business environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or business discipline.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience in an industrial union environment.
