About the role
The incumbent oversees the day-to-day functions during their shift, including cash management, staff supervision, and ensuring smooth operations. They are responsible for balancing cash registers, making bank deposits, and adhering to cash handling procedures.
Responsibilities
- Balancing cash registers, making bank deposits, and tracking daily revenues and expenses.
- Assigning tasks, coordinating employee responsibilities, and resolving any issues that arise during the shift.
- Monitoring inventory levels and ensuring that stock is adequately maintained.
- Addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and regulations, including safety guidelines and financial standards.
- Communicating with staff and other managers, providing updates, and conveying information.
Qualifications
- Ability to lead, motivate and supervise staff.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and staff.
- Able to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic and financial calculations.
- Basic knowledge of POS systems and other relevant software.
- Opening or closing the business during their shift.
- Training new employees on procedures and standards.
- Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with other operational tasks as needed.
Work Environment
- Frequent standing, walking, using hands, reaching, talking, hearing, and tasting.
- Frequent lifting and moving up to 50 pounds.
- Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Fast-paced and often crowded and noisy environment.
- Exposure to casino-related environmental factors such as second-hand smoke, excessive noise, and constant exposure to the general public.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
