Shift Manager, Beverage
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood is the flagship casino resort of Hard Rock International, owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. This world-renowned entertainment, gaming, and hospitality destination features a $1.5 billion expansion completed in 2019, including 1,271 upscale guestrooms, a 42,000 square-foot Rock Spa® & Salon, a 13.5-acre recreational lagoon, 19 dining outlets, 20 bars and lounges, a 3,100-slot gaming floor, 195 table games, a 45-table poker room, 120,000 square feet of meeting and convention space, and a 7,000-person Hard Rock Live entertainment venue. Located on 87 acres of the Hollywood Seminole Reservation, the resort is 10 minutes from Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport and 30 minutes from downtown Miami.
Responsibilities
- Act as the Food and Beverage Manager on Duty (MOD) during evening and late-night shifts, serving as the key liaison between the division and casino/hotel operations.
- Ensure consistency of service through implementation of policy and procedure, training, certification, recognition, and discipline of all evening food and beverage staff.
- Oversee the planning and operation of all VIP Room II functions.
- Gather and track guest feedback on food and beverage offerings to substantiate suggested changes and enhancements.
- Lead productivity initiatives by auditing weekly schedules and establishing a realistic zero-based staffing guide.
- Implement and monitor food and beverage control systems, revising as necessary.
- Assist in organizing and operating food and beverage outlets in accordance with approved standards, budgetary limitations, policies, and procedures.
- Support the development and implementation of the Food and Beverage department’s yearly budgets, capital FF&E, and capital projects.
- Direct and oversee the day-to-day activities of all food and beverage outlets.
- Maintain knowledge of Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s policies, procedures, and operations.
- Promote positive public and employee relations at all times.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free work environment within the area of responsibility.
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of food or beverage management experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
- Experience in high-volume beverage operations preferred.
- Experience in a casino and/or hotel environment preferred.
- Team-oriented with a strong ability to work with and assist people.
- Able to exercise independent judgment.
- Articulate with a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Punctuality and ability to meet deadlines is critical.
Work Environment
- The department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week; must be able to work any shift, including evenings and late nights.
- May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors, including secondhand smoke and excessive noise.
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
- Frequent physical demands, including standing, walking, handling objects, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, as well as depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Fast-paced, hectic, and often crowded and noisy environment with constant exposure to the general public.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with guests in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
