Shift Manager

About the role

The job is for a Shift Manager position at a McDonald’s restaurant operated by an independent franchisee. This franchisee is a separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA. The franchisee is responsible for employment matters such as hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
• Provide leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to ensure great Quality, Service and Cleanliness to customers.
• Perform a variety of tasks including planning for each shift, monitoring performance, taking action to ensure standards are met, monitoring safety, security, and profitability, and communicating with the next Shift Manager to help prepare them for the next shift.
• May be responsible for meeting targets during shifts and helping departments meet their goals.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, manage inventory, maintain cleanliness, oversee quality food production, and provide exceptional customer service.
• Manage crew and communicate effectively with supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• Must have or have previously had a Servsafe Certification.
• Previous leadership experience in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment is preferred.
• Positive team player with a flexible schedule and passion for working in the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
