Shift Manager

About the role

This job posting describes the responsibilities and requirements for a Shift Manager position at a McDonald’s restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee. The franchisee is a separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts every week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience.
• Provide leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to maintain great Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
• Monitor performance during the shift, take action to ensure team meets McDonald’s standards, and manage safety, security, and profitability.
• Communicate with the next Shift Manager to help prepare them for their shift.
• Meet targets during shifts and assist in meeting department goals.
• Manage inventory, daily maintenance, and cleanliness.
• Ensure quality food production and exceptional customer service.
• Oversee food safety and internal communication.
• Manage crew and handle scheduling.
• Train new employees as needed.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience, preferably in a restaurant, retail, or hospitality setting.
• Positive team player with a flexible schedule and a passion for working in the fast-paced McDonald’s environment.
• Must be 18 years or older to be a manager in a corporate-owned McDonald’s restaurant.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver’s license. Previous experience in a fast-paced environment is preferred.

Skills

Effective communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is beneficial.
