About the role
The Shift Manager at West Star is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations for their assigned shift. This includes attending shift turnover meetings, coordinating project details, reviewing squawks, submitting customer approvals, managing maintenance updates, and performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Attends shift turnover meetings.
- Covers all aircraft maintenance activities for the assigned shift.
- Coordinates project details with Quality Personnel, Team Leads, and Parts Department.
- Reviews squawks generated and produces estimates that will be submitted for customer approval.
- Serves as the point-of-contact for the assigned shift.
- Maintains a look-forward approach for setting up manpower, equipment, and parts for the next shift.
- Monitors hours applied to the work scope to ensure alignment with proposal and estimate sheets.
- Makes decisions based on safety, qualifications, and company regulations for all technicians assigned.
- Manages the maintenance updates, internally and to the customer, for the assigned shift.

- Maintains a culture of continuous improvement in procedures, processes, and internal and external customer satisfaction to improve cost, schedule, and quality of processes.
- Effectively and clearly communicates (speaking, writing, reading) in English.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A&P license is recommended but not required.
- A valid driver's license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
- Aircraft specific factory training is preferred.
- 5+ years’ prior experience working in corporate aircraft maintenance.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 products.
- Experience supervising two or more line maintenance technicians.
