About the Role
As the team at Zaxby's expands, we're looking for a Shift Leader to manage the product, process, and people required to execute a shift. This role involves supervisory and decision-making responsibilities, including assigning tasks to team members, responding to guest complaints, setting shift goals, and ensuring benchmarks for success are met. The Shift Leader is responsible for opening and closing tasks, training and coaching team members, and maintaining operational standards.
Responsibilities
- Complete all training requirements, including the Zaxby's Shift Leader Development Plan, Food Safety Certification, and any additional training required by Zax LLC.
- Create a culture of high performance and train/coach team members to meet all company standards.
- Mentor, coach, and develop team members; communicate performance concerns to the General Manager.
- Prioritize guest and team member experience; resolve complaints and concerns in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Create and maintain a positive culture and healthy team morale through recognition and leading by example.
- Communicate shift goals and motivate team members to meet goals and perform to their highest ability.
- Delegate tasks to team members and supervise performance during a shift.
- Maintain operational standards and ensure compliance with all Zaxby’s Franchising LLC and Zax LLC guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure service, product quality, and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld.
- Enhance guest experiences by ensuring team members satisfy and exceed guest expectations.
- Receive and reconcile truck deliveries, ensure product is properly stocked, and complete daily inventory counts.
- Manage food production and quality by monitoring prepping, cooking, and holding processes; take corrective action when necessary.
- Track food safety and quality throughout the shift; ensure guests receive accurate orders that meet company standards and guest satisfaction.
- Plan shift duties and ensure opening and closing duties are complete.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop goals and report progress.
- Ensure processes, policies, and procedures are properly followed throughout daily operations.
- Follow company cash management policies.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines.
- Utilize management tools and keep neat, accurate, and current records.
- Maintain flexibility to perform above and beyond the parameters of this position description.
- Ensure the team works safely and follows all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Immediately report all human resources and risk management concerns to your General Manager and District Manager.
- Escalate other concerns to your supervisor when appropriate.
- Perform all other duties necessary to ensure restaurant operations function properly.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-time: Available to work 9 to 28 hours per week.
- Full-time: Available to work 32 to 40 hours per week.
- Successful completion of background check.
- Demonstrates leadership qualities, organizational skills, and ability to interact cooperatively with others.
- Follows company standards and local laws with regards to employee time punches.

Capabilities
- Sit, stand, and walk continuously.

Pay
Pay Range: $16.00 - $17.00 / hour
Schedule
- Part-time: 9 to 28 hours per week.
- Full-time: 32 to 40 hours per week.
- Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
