Shift Leader

Job Summary

The successful candidate will manage the hourly team members and interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive manner. They will execute opening, mid, and closing duties daily, handle guest concerns, and manage cash transactions.

Responsibilities

• Execute opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
• Handle Guest concerns and guide them toward a positive resolution.
• Skilled at cash-handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, and managing deposits during the shift.
• Presents self as a leader among the Team Members and motivates others to follow procedures, work with a sense of urgency, and ensure a positive Guest experience.
• De-escalates issues between Team Members and supports Management with the inventory process.
• Ensures food safety by performing line checks, checking shelf storage and expiration dates for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean and in order.
• Manages the daily prep list and signs off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to specifications and flavor profiles.
• Maintains a safe environment for Team Members and Guests by enforcing the use of cut gloves, keeping floors clean and dry, and removing obstacles.
• Communicates and delivers a friendly, welcoming, exceptional guest experience.
• Embraces feedback, is eager to learn, and takes accountability for their actions.
• Manages time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must be able to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time.

Qualifications

Experience in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment is preferred. Must have a strong understanding of food safety regulations and be able to maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Hours are flexible and may include weekends and holidays.
