Shift Leader

Job Summary

The successful candidate will manage hourly team members and interact with guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive manner. Duties include executing opening, mid, and closing duties, handling guest concerns, cash-handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, managing deposits, leading team members, supporting inventory processes, ensuring food safety, managing daily prep lists, and delivering a friendly guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
• Handles Guest concerns and guides them toward a positive resolution.
• Skilled at cash-handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, and managing deposits during the shift.
• Presents self as a leader among the Team Members and motivates others to follow procedures, work with a sense of urgency, and ensure a positive Guest experience.
• De-escalates issues between Team Members and makes everyone feel heard.
• Supports Management with the inventory process.
• Ensures food safety by performing line checks, checking shelf storage and expiration dates for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean and in order.
• Manages the daily prep list and signs off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to specifications and flavor profiles.
• Maintains a safe environment for Team Members & Guests by enforcing the use of cut gloves, keeping floors clean and dry, and removing obstacles.
• Communicates and delivers a friendly, welcoming, exceptional guest experience.
• Embraces feedback, is eager to learn, and takes accountability for their actions.
• Manages time effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable in all areas of the restaurant related to culinary, hospitality, and Guest interaction.
