Shift Leader

About the Role

At Caribou Coffee, we create day-making experiences that spark a chain reaction of GOOD! The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures the team has a clear understanding of goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives, and guest connections during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates mastery of Team Member duties with ease, enthusiasm, and excellence.
• Leads shifts focusing on team engagement and guest satisfaction with a commitment to "Make Fun Happen."
• Thinks strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management.
• Demonstrates "total store vision" to take ownership of the store's look and feel.
• Knowledgeable about daily deployment, roles, and responsibilities.
• Leverages effective communication on the floor during shifts.
• Anticipates team and guest needs, addressing situations proactively.
• Understands shift priorities and effectively communicates and delegates tasks.
• Takes ownership for both the current shift and the following shift.
• Ensures the team executes Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and quality standards correctly and consistently.
• Actively coaches and provides in-the-moment feedback to team members.
• Trains team on role responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotional items.
• Performs administrative tasks with integrity, including bank deposits, inventory, and store product orders.
• Actively develops team members and discusses career and professional growth.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail, or customer service experience required, or properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee to take responsibility as a Shift Leader.
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays, and/or weekends.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Qualifications

• Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Preferred: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

• Hearing, speaking, and seeing.
• Bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for 4 to 8 hours.
• Ability to accomplish physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.

Pay

Compensation Range: $12.75 - $21.25 per hour. Starting pay is subject to Local and State Minimum Wage regulations.
