Shift Lead - UCI - Social Science POD
About the role
This position is responsible for the supervision, training, and management of the food operation at an Aramark location. The Lead Student Worker ensures appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served while maintaining safety, quality, and compliance with policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production records.
- Direct daily activities and ensure food safety and quality according to policies and procedures.
- Maintain a sanitary department in compliance with health and safety codes.
- Oversee food storage, inventory, and serving schedules to meet menu specifications.
- Supervise, evaluate, and mentor employees; promote teamwork and morale.
- Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
- Train other food service workers and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Recommend equipment replacements to meet facility needs.
- Fill in for absent employees as necessary.
- Manage daily catering events, ensuring timely preparation and delivery.
- Attend food service meetings and maintain communication with staff.
- Perform cashier duties when needed.
- Promote positive public relations.
- Work occasional night and weekend catered events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director or Manager.
Requirements
- Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
- Complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year of employment.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
- Maintain emotional control under stress.
- Knowledgeable in operating a cost-effective program.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be a student at the Aramark location where employed.
Pay
The hourly rate for this position is $23.00.
