Job Responsibilities
- Covers activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage or shipment.
- Studies production orders to determine type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
- Inspects products before packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
- Starts, adjusts, and repairs packaging machinery; notifies maintenance department.
- Trains workers in operation of equipment.
Physical Requirements And Work Environment
- Ability to troubleshoot and operate all positions within area.
- Ability to identify quality defects and source of defects.
- Ability to train new wrapper operators.
- Ability to complete roll changes within 3 minutes or less; line change over in 15 minutes or less.
- Ability to operate multiple lines (3 different machines).
- Ability to complete FROI and do RCA along with Supervisor.
- Ability to effectively perform 5S audit.
- Ability to Train B Operators on necessary pre-shift setup and how to perform PMs for necessary equipment.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling as necessary.
- Lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Due to the open environment of the packaging area, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions.
