Shift Lead-Packaging Department

Job Responsibilities

• Covers activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage or shipment.
• Studies production orders to determine type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
• Inspects products before packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
• Starts, adjusts, and repairs packaging machinery; notifies maintenance department.
• Trains workers in operation of equipment.

Physical Requirements And Work Environment

• Ability to troubleshoot and operate all positions within area.
• Ability to identify quality defects and source of defects.
• Ability to train new wrapper operators.
• Ability to complete roll changes within 3 minutes or less; line change over in 15 minutes or less.
• Ability to operate multiple lines (3 different machines).
• Ability to complete FROI and do RCA along with Supervisor.
• Ability to effectively perform 5S audit.
• Ability to Train B Operators on necessary pre-shift setup and how to perform PMs for necessary equipment.
• Standing for long periods of time.
• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling as necessary.
• Lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Due to the open environment of the packaging area, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions.
