Shift Lead

Shift Key Carrier role supporting daily store operations in the absence of store management.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the store, including all required systems start-ups, cash handling, and preparing the sales floor and stock room for the business day.
• Open the back door for deliveries and manage vendor interactions.
• Process product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change for cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, resolving issues, and sharing best practices with team members.
• Hold store keys to open and close without management as needed.
• Assist and coach team members with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including receiving deliveries.
• Register all sales on assigned cash register, including handling scanning errors, price verifications, and voids.
• Review order exceptions on release day and assist in reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packages).
• Assist in evaluating and developing promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise displays, including resets and revisions.
• Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities in all departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
• Ensure compliance with the Outdate program and proper stock rotation using the first in, first out method.
• Handle basic department pricing, daily price changes, and ensure proper signage for accurate pricing.
• Complete additional pricing tasks related to local regulations and compliance programs accurately and on time.
• Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments.
• Maintain store appearance by ensuring cleanliness, neatness, and requesting repairs as needed.
• Assist with food item separation and product placement according to policies and procedures.
• Operate store systems and equipment proficiently.
• Assist at the Pharmacy out window as requested.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
• Perform bag checks for team members before they leave the store.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Preferred knowledge of store inventory control.
• Obtain and maintain valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state (preferred).

• Attend training and complete PPLs (Plan for Personal Learning) requested by management.
• Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks.
• Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.

Pay

Salary Range: $17 - $20 / Hourly
