About the role
As a shift lead, you'll be responsible for leading the store's operations, ensuring a positive customer experience, and managing various tasks under the supervision of store management.
Responsibilities
- Opens and closes the store, including all required systems start-ups, cash handling, and ensuring the store is ready for the business day.
- Completes product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provides change as requested to cash registers.
- Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving customer issues, and answering questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Assists with and coaches other team members to work with warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including opening the back door for vendor deliveries.
- Registers all related sales on assigned cash register, including records of scanning errors, price verifications, items not on file, price modifications, and voids.
- Assists in evaluating and developing displays, completing resets and revisions, maintaining accurate inventory counts, and following the Outdate program.
- Maintains accurate inventory counts, ensures proper signage, and completes daily price changes.
- Aids in bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments.
- Affixes exterior and interior maintenance, ensuring a clean, neat, and orderly store condition and appearance.
- Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products and assists with separation of food items.
- Responsible for bag checks of team members before leaving the store.
- Serves as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks.
- Reports disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Requirements
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
