Shift Supervisor position supporting store operations in the absence of store management.
Responsibilities
- Open and close the store, including systems start-ups, cash handling, and preparing the sales floor and stock room for the business day.
- Open the back door for deliveries and manage vendor interactions.
- Process product returns, order voids, customer refunds, cash drops to the safe, and provide change for cash registers.
- Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers, offering assistance, resolving issues, and sharing best practices with team members.
- Hold store keys and open/close the store without management as needed.
- Assist and coach team members on warehouse and vendor ordering processes, including receiving deliveries.
- Register all sales on assigned cash register, handle scanning errors, price verifications, and voids.
- Review order exceptions on release day and assist in reverse logistics (e.g., returns, empty packages).
- Assist in developing and evaluating promotional, seasonal, and sale merchandise displays; complete resets and revisions.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and on-hand quantities in all departments, stockroom, and overstock locations.
- Ensure compliance with the Outdate program and proper stock rotation using the first in, first out method.
- Handle basic department pricing, daily price changes, and ensure proper signage for accurate pricing.
- Complete additional pricing tasks related to local regulations and compliance programs accurately and on time.
- Assist with bookkeeping activities such as cash reports, cash counts, ledgers, and bill payments.
- Maintain store appearance, including cleanliness and requesting repairs as needed.
- Ensure proper separation and placement of food items according to policies (e.g., raw foods from pre-cooked).
- Operate store systems and equipment proficiently.
- Assist at the Pharmacy out window as requested.
- Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
- Conduct bag checks for team members before leaving the store.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful coworker relationships.
- Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Preferred: Knowledge of store inventory control.
- Obtains and maintains valid PTCB certification or pharmacy license as required by state.
Training & Personal Development
- Attend training and complete PPLs (Planned Performance Learning) as requested by management.
Communications
- Serve as a liaison between management and non-management team members by communicating assigned tasks.
- Report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
Pay
Salary Range: $17.92 - $20.50 / Hourly
