Shift Lead
About the role
Serve as a leader on duty during assigned shifts. Open and close the store, including balancing and closing cash drawers. Delegate tasks and ensure all daily responsibilities are completed. Coach, motivate, and support team members throughout the shift. Hold the team accountable to company standards, procedures, and sales goals. Lead by example in attitude, work ethic, guest service, and sales performance. Create an exceptional, guest-focused shopping experience. Greet and engage every guest upon arrival. Make relevant product recommendations based on guest needs. Confidently ask for the sale and help the team meet and exceed sales goals. Handle guest concerns professionally and effectively. Assist with daily production of handmade products while maintaining a high level of quality.
Responsibilities

- Aid in maintaining cleanliness throughout both the retail and production areas of the Makery.
- Support inventory management, reporting, and daily operational tasks.
Requirements
- Previous leadership, keyholder, team lead, training, or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to lead a team independently and make sound decisions.
- Comfortable working in a sales-driven environment and achieving goals.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn company systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Responsible, dependable, and trustworthy with cash handling responsibilities.
- Ability to work cohesively with a team in an upbeat, fast-paced environment while following company policies and procedures.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Comfortable working around various scents and fragrances.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, climb, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to assist with cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and general Makery maintenance.
