Duties And Responsibilities

  • Traffic Control: Manage and control vehicle flow at a fire or traffic accident scene.
  • Scene Safety: Ensure the scene of an incident is safe for those working in the vicinity; this includes both emergency service personnel and the public.
  • Crowd Control and Liaison: Position oneself to prevent individuals from coming into harm and interfering with the work of emergency services personnel. Must have excellent public relations skills.
  • Scene Monitoring: Monitor unattended equipment. Ensure safety first.
  • Law Enforcement Assistance: Provide supplemental assistance in areas of law enforcement.
  • Logistics: Handle vehicle movements, communications, or similar duties.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Must be able to pass a physical fitness test.
  • Must be able to pass a psychological evaluation.
