Shenandoah, IA (Growing Area) – Team Leader, Green Goods Distribution Center

Mission

The Team Leader will assist with all aspects of Earl May Green Goods Distribution Center operations, including training, coaching, nursery maintenance, shipping, receiving, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Maintain quality of nursery stock.
• Ensure the shipping team can ship stock of superior quality.
• Aid with the inbound and outbound of all nursery products, including quality and consistency checks.
• Maintain a current and accurate inventory and ensure its superior quality in terms of size, color, etc.
• Collaborate with growers to establish a pruning and fertilizing schedule.
• Work with buyers to determine optimal times and stages for plants to be shipped to extend their shelf life for retail locations.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience leading or training a team (as supervisor, manager, coach, teacher).
• Previous experience in the nursery industry is a plus but not required.
• An understanding of ownership and accountability, along with pride in one's work.
