Responsibilities
- Provide support to shelter residents and create a hospitable and safe environment.
- Work at least one eight-hour shift per month and cover at least 3 holidays per year.
- Maintain a watchful eye on residents' activities within the shelter environment.
- Complete daily Shift Log check-list and review and record Communication Log each shift.
- Conduct security wanding upon resident admission and random wand checks.
- Make rounds every half hour and conduct periodic inspections to ensure rooms are clean, facility is secure, and clients are abiding by house rules.
- Make referrals to alternative emergency shelter providers when Program beds are unavailable.
- Maintain basic record keeping responsibilities, including performing electronic intakes in the database and completing accurate time sheets in ADP.
- Check individual work email daily.
- Attend and participate in monthly Staff meetings/Resident meetings.
- Attend relevant In-Service training/conferences, as requested.
- Complete all mandatory training (in-person and online) in a timely manner.
- Clean linens, maintain cleanliness of facility (inside and perimeter).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of High School Diploma/GED will be reviewed.
- Associated Degree preferred.
- Crisis intervention, interpersonal and communication skills needed.
- Able to work in a continually changing and challenging environment.
- Flexibility in personal work schedule.
- Must be available for relief hours as needed.
- Basic computer skills required for completion of intakes, time sheets, email, daily logs.
