You'll work directly with displaced individuals, assisting with shelter operations, providing support and resources, and helping create a safe and welcoming environment.ResponsibilitiesWelcome and check in shelter residentsAssist individuals with accessing supplies, food, and shelter resourcesHelp coordinate sleeping arrangements and general shelter needsProvide compassionate support to individuals affected by disaster-related displacementAnswer questions and help connect residents with available servicesComplete basic administrative tasks including filing and paperworkAssist with food distribution and inventory managementMaintain a clean, organized, and safe environmentCollaborate with team members to support daily shelter operationsAdapt to changing priorities as shelter needs evolveQualificationsMinimum of 6 months of experience supporting individuals in need, such as:Shelter servicesCase managementFirst responder supportHuman servicesCommunity outreachCustomer-facing service rolesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsDemonstrated empathy, patience, and compassionAbility to remain calm and professional in sensitive situationsComfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environmentBasic administrative and organizational skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectivelyPreferred BackgroundsWe welcome candidates with experience in:Shelters or social servicesNonprofit organizationsCase managementHealthcare supportFirst responder or emergency response environmentsHospitality, restaurant, retail, or customer service rolesAdministrative or office support positionsWork EnvironmentThis position is based onsite at a shelter facility supporting disaster relief efforts.
