Shelter Staff Support Clinician
SUMMARY OF THE POSITION
The Shelter Staff Support Clinician primary focus is on assisting staff in the promotion of a safe and healthy environment, and supporting direct care staff in fostering healthy helping relationships with guests in emergency shelter.
The Shelter Staff Support Clinician works from the Pine Street Inn policy and procedures developed to ensure a safe shelter environment for guests and staff. The clinician may need to respond to guests in crisis in an effort to support shelter staff and PSI clinical teams. The clinician will work with direct care staff to advocate for appropriate level of care services and work in collaboration with other PSI departments that provide clinical support to our guests. The clinician will work closely with shelter staff and leadership team.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION/TRAINING: Required: Master’s degree in Social Work or related degree
PREFERRED: Licensure as an LMHC or LICSW
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Required: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the Human Services field
Knowledge in the areas of trauma, addiction, secondary trauma, grief support, recovery and mental illness
Knowledge of issues pertaining to the homeless
Demonstrated skills in motivational interviewing, crisis intervention and de-escalationPREFERRED: Administering Narcan and CPR in a work setting
Knowledge of area resources
Bilingual English/Spanish/Haitian Creole
Experience in training direct care staff in crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques

SCHEDULE
40 hours, Wednesday-Saturday, 10:15 am-8:15 pm, one early shift per week: 5:15 am-3:15 pm (open to candidate's preference)
PAY
$60,000-$80,000 annually DOE (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set)
