About the role

Entry-level positions in the Receiving and Live Hanger departments. Candidates may be invited to attend a facility tour to observe the roles firsthand.

Responsibilities

• Stand for approximately 8 hours per day while hanging birds onto an overhead shackle line
• Use both hands to grasp live chickens by the legs without bruising or breaking any parts
• Lift and turn chickens upside down with the breast facing away
• Maintain a pace of at least 28 birds per minute, each weighing 5–10 pounds
• Wear all required safety equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
• Work at a fast pace for the entire shift
• Work flexible hours, including some weekends, as production requires
• Work in cold, hot, damp, and dusty environments
• Observe all required hygiene and safety procedures
• Stand for the entire shift with repetitive bending, lifting, twisting, and turning
• Comply with all company policies and rules
• Work under dim and ultraviolet fluorescent lighting
• Work around minimal dust and ammonia from live birds

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must provide proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
• Must pass a urinalysis screening as part of the post-offer health assessment
• Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
