Sheeter Operator Assistant - Nights

About the role

PaperWorks is seeking a skilled machine operator to assist the sheeter operator on our cutting machines. This position involves running the sheeter machine to cut rolls into specified board sizes and maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Understand and follow computer instructions to print reports after each job completion.
• Keep accurate production records and use various measuring devices such as tape measures, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
• Perform preventive maintenance by greasing and oiling the machinery as needed.
• Use specification sheets to determine roll sizes and sheet cut-offs.
• Adjust the roll holder and PIV speed to meet production needs.
• Inspect products for quality deficiencies and move cut sheets to the correct staging area using an electric pallet jack.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and work area.
• Follow AVP procedures and suggest improvements as necessary.
• Accurately record job completions and use measuring devices as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• One to two years of machine operator experience and/or training, preferably in the folding carton industry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to operate a sheeter machine effectively.
• Must have strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, Monday to Friday nights from 6 PM to 4 AM.

Skills

• Understanding of computer systems and report generation.
• Proficiency in using measuring devices.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications.
• Good physical stamina for manual labor.

Pay

Schedule
