About the Role
As a Sheeter/Cutter Operator at Quad’s modern packaging facility in Franklin, you will efficiently perform set-up and operate a machine that cuts rolls up to 59" of paper stock into sheets of a specific size and quantity. This role involves working in a collaborative environment where quality, safety, and teamwork are prioritized. You’ll contribute to creating packaging found on store shelves nationwide while expanding your skills with advanced printing and finishing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Confirm orders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Set up and effectively operate the precision cutter, following pre-production, make-ready, and production-run tasks and instructions.
- Cross-train as assigned.
- Operate powered equipment, including:
- Guillotine Cutter
- Hand tools (powered screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, etc.)
- Compressed air hoses
- Powered and assisted lifting devices
- Clamp forklift, scissor/man lifts, hand jacks
- Elevator sorting/staging platform
- Scanning devices and bar-code readers
- Keyboard and touch computers
- Work from scaffolds up to 7-8 ft. high around the press and output areas.
- Frequently use roll pushers to move rolls of paper weighing approximately 1,400-5,600+ lbs.
- Use mechanical or electrical hand pallet jacks to lift and move pallets/skids with up to 1,500 lbs. of product.
- Perform tasks requiring physical abilities, such as:
- Crawling under and into the cutter in small spaces.
- Reaching into all areas to set up and monitor rollers.
- Lifting 10-15 pounds continuously and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Standing for long hours (12-hour shift).
- Using hands and wrists continuously in controlled movements.
- Identify defects using vision, including peripheral and depth perception, and pass a color test.
- Work overtime and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- Previous sheeter (roll tender) experience preferred.
- Ability to perform work-related functions requiring basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and read metric measurements.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand Basic English.
- Familiarity with machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Computer proficiency.
- Troubleshooting experience.
- Understanding of the USA dating system.
- Knowledge of Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to quickly and accurately compare letters, numbers, objects, pictures, and patterns.

Preferred Qualifications
- Machine repair and maintenance experience.
- Raw material inventory management experience.
Pay
Competitive starting wage between $17.50 - $19.50/hour, with higher pay for those with sheeting/roll tender experience. Eligible for a $2.00 shift premium.
Schedule
- 5 PM - 5 AM, Sunday - Tuesday (eligible for $2.00 shift premium).
- 5 PM - 5 AM, Wednesday - Friday (eligible for $2.00 shift premium).
