Job Objective The Sheet Metal Technician is responsible for performing preventive and non- preventive maintenance, alterations, and inspections functions on various customer and company aircraft, engines, and appliances. Essential Functions Collaborate with appropriate personnel to repair aircraft and aircraft components as requiredConduct inspections and functional tests to verify the proper operation of aircraft, aircraft systems and aircraft components using approved tools and diagnostic equipmentConsult maintenance manuals, technical publications, and manufacturer specifications to determine accurate procedures for repairs and replacementsEnsure all maintenance work is performed in compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer’s maintenance manuals, and company policiesAccurately develop and maintain records of maintenance actions, inspections, parts usage, and other documentation as requiredMaintain required certifications and stay current with industry standards, procedures, and aircraft system knowledgePerform maintenance tasks using OEM manuals, aircraft drawings, schematics, and standard symbols to accurately diagnose and repair issuesCarry out additional maintenance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or Director of Maintenance Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSA) Attention to detailWillingness to learnHigh technical aptitudeStrong initiativeTeam playerKnowledgeable of all applicable Federal Rules and RegulationsAbility to supply personal tools and toolboxPossess work ethics of honesty, integrity, and commitment to maintaining safe and compliant aircraftStrong analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsAbility to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalentPrefer a valid FAA A&P certificate or in the process of completing certificate requirements or previous military experienceExperience in a Part 145 Repair Station preferred Physical Demands Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, squatting for extended periods of timeClimbing heights on various equipmentLifting up to 50 or more poundsMust have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the positionAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required Work Environment Indoor/Outdoor environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperaturesExposure to hazardous chemicals is possibleModerate to loud noise level Heavy machinery used Work Status, Schedule, Travel Full-time, 40 hours per weekMonday-Thursday 7:00 am-4:30 pm, Friday 7:00 am-12:00 pmOvertime necessary depending on workload No travel requiredMetro Aviation, Inc. does not have a Visa Sponsorship program at this time* Metro Aviation, Inc. is committed to employees, customers, and the community to promote diversity and inclusion by developing policies, programs, and procedures that foster a work environment where differences are respected and employees are treated fairly.
