The role is responsible for managing the RADAN Post Processor team and prioritising development activities across RADAN Punch & Profile, RadTube, RadMax, and RADAN Bending technologies.

About the role

This role includes technical leadership, people management, backlog prioritisation, process governance, customer engagement, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Service & Solutions, you will help establish consistent global processes, strengthen collaboration across regional teams, and improve the delivery of machine solutions that support customer success and business growth.

The role is primarily home-based, with a preference for candidates located in either the UK or the US. Occasional travel may be required to support customers, regional teams, resellers, workshops, and strategic business initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of post processors across the Sheet Metal portfolio.
  • Prioritise new development, maintenance requests, customer escalations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Assess requirements, technical feasibility, and implementation approaches for new functionality.
  • Review, test, and validate solutions to ensure quality, consistency, and maintainability.
  • Support customer testing and acceptance activities where required.
  • Manage and coordinate a global team of post processor developers.
  • Foster collaboration across Development, Support, Services, Product Management, regional teams, and resellers to align development activities with global standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical coaching, guidance, and escalation support.
  • Deploy best-practice development strategies established across the global Production Machining portfolio.
  • Improve and maintain processes covering development, version control, testing, documentation, release management, and support.
  • Use Jira and Agile practices to manage backlogs, priorities, and delivery.
  • Drive consistent global ways of working, clear ownership of post processor assets, and understanding of request submission, qualification, prioritisation, and tracking processes.
  • Work closely with regional teams, resellers, Support, and Services to ensure requirements are clearly defined, priorities are balanced, and delivery expectations are aligned before development begins.
  • Support customer escalations and technical discussions where post processor delivery impacts business performance or customer satisfaction.
  • Improve the management of digital twins, machine data, and related development assets.
  • Support initiatives that simplify the creation, storage, and reuse of digital machine data.
  • Promote the adoption of AI-assisted tools to enhance development, testing, documentation, and support processes.
  • Support business growth through improved machine coverage, delivery efficiency, and reseller enablement.
  • Monitor and report on KPIs including backlog, throughput, lead times, delivery performance, and development risks.
  • Contribute to business cases for additional resources, tooling, and process improvements.

Requirements

  • Experience in software development, technical leadership, or development management.
  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM software, preferably RADAN or similar manufacturing solutions.
  • Understanding of CNC machines, post processors, machine configuration, and NC code generation.
  • Experience managing technical requirements through development, testing, and release.
  • Familiarity with Jira or similar development management tools.
  • Strong communication (English) and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, technical complexity, and available resources.

Desirable Skills

  • Agile/Scrum and backlog management experience.
  • Strong programming skills, ideally in C# or another object-oriented language.
  • Knowledge of Git, DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing practices.
  • Experience with GPP, YAFL, TCL, C#, or similar post processor technologies.
  • Familiarity with digital twins, machine simulation, and automated NC generation.
  • Experience introducing AI or automation into engineering processes.
  • Experience working within global, matrix-based organisations.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent.

Success Measures

  • Improve delivery predictability and transparency.
  • Reduce backlog risk and increase throughput.
  • Establish consistent global development processes.
  • Improve collaboration across global and regional teams.
  • Increase customer and reseller confidence through reliable delivery and communication.
  • Support commercial growth through broader machine coverage and faster deployment of solutions.
  • Deliver meaningful KPI reporting and business insights.
