Sheet Metal Fabrication Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Independently set up and run laser cutting machines for sheet metal fabrication
• Set up and run press brake machines to bend and form parts to specification
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders
• Select appropriate materials, tooling, and machine settings for each job
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, squares, and tape measures
• Make adjustments to processes to maintain quality and efficiency
• Identify material defects, tooling issues, or equipment problems and report them
• Perform routine maintenance and keep machines and work areas clean and organized
• Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and fabrication best practices

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2-5 years of sheet metal fabrication experience preferred
• Hands-on experience with laser cutting and press brake equipment
• Strong ability to read blueprints and understand tolerances
• Good understanding of sheet metal materials and forming processes
• Attention to detail with a focus on consistent, high-quality output
• Ability to work independently and meet production schedules
