Sheet Metal Machine Operator
About the role
We are seeking full-time Operators for our Sheet Metal Fabrication Department. Associates in these positions support the manufacture of cabinets or other products by preparing sheet metal stock for application to finished product. Attention to detail is required and all associates must meet standards for acceptable production and quality.
Candidates selected for these positions must successfully complete screening requirements and a probationary period of 400 working hours. These opportunities are part of a bargaining unit rooted in seniority principles, so shifts are not guaranteed. Applicants should be available to work any shift.
Schedule
Positions are available on our 2nd (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.) and 3rd (11:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.) shifts.
Responsibilities
- Sets up and operates press brake machinery
- Reads and interprets blueprints
- Utilizes precision measuring equipment
- Operates auxiliary equipment as assigned
- Meets performance and quality standards
- Uses simple tools such as tape measure and protractor
- Works effectively and cooperatively in a team environment
- Maintains regular attendance
Note: This job may not be limited to the operation of a press brake. Other duties, including operation of other machinery in the Fabrication work-center, will be assigned as needed.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating metal forming machines
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment
