Shear Wave Level II Inspector
About the role
Level II UT Shear Wave Inspectors are required to perform ultrasonic inspection duties in various areas of the facility, including on the hull sections and structural and piping components.
Responsibilities
- Perform UT volumetric inspection duties in the various areas throughout the facility.
- Train in Quality Assurance systems, procedures, policies, and specifications.
- Inspect welds, parts, and components using ultrasonic techniques.
- Verify and certify that work is complete and satisfactory according to specifications.
- Record and report inspection results accurately.
- Work all shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current or previous certification (within last 2 years) as Level II UT Shear Wave.
- Ability to grind joints and clear indications as needed during the inspection process.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance through the Department of War.
Qualifications
- Previous shipyard or similar manufacturing experience (1+ years preferred).
- Knowledge of shipboard assemblies, installations, and foundations.
- Prior military/navy experience.
- Previous NDT schooling/training.
- Previous NDT Methods MT, PT, ET knowledge.

- Strong foundational mathematical skills.
- Effective note-taking and documentation skills.
- Adaptability to switch between different jobs as needed.
- Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

The pay for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Schedule
