Shear Operator

Major Responsibilities/Activities

• Set up the machine and make proper adjustments as needed to ensure each particular product meets customer specifications.
• Thread up copper tubing into the shear machine from a pan to straighten the tubing into a straight length piece of copper.
• Ensure the quality of the finished copper tubing meets established quality standards.
• Record all required measurements and enter the information into our MES record keeping system.
• Keep the area around the machine clean and clean the work area daily prior to the end of each scheduled shift.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Production Supervisor, such as waiting on feed stock to run the machine.

Other Functions

• Participate in safety, quality, and process improvement programs within the department or other production areas.
• Report to lead personnel and shift supervisors to ensure effective compliance with safety, quality, productivity, and maintenance issues.

• Computer skills
• Reading of micrometers
• Effective verbal communication
• Self-starter attitude

Hours and Compensation

This is a 3rd Shift position. Hours are 8pm-6am. Starting wage is based on level of experience and skill.
