About the Role

Leads and facilitates the development and implementation of training and other programs to ensure sitewide Safety, Health, and Environmental (SH&E) compliance. Monitors proposed and existing SH&E regulations and legislation to determine their impact on operations and develops programs to ensure continued compliance. Participates in corporate efforts such as Long Range Plans (LRPs), Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs), global standards, and budget development. Establishes site SH&E goals and objectives consistent with global and regional goals, and leads improvement plans to enhance compliance and performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and facilitate the development and implementation of site SH&E training and compliance programs.
• Monitor proposed and existing SH&E regulations and legislation to assess their impact on operations.
• Develop and implement programs to ensure continued SH&E compliance.
• Participate in the development of Long Range Plans (LRPs), Continuous Improvement Plans (CIPs), global standards, budget, and other corporate initiatives.
• Establish site SH&E goals and objectives aligned with global and regional targets.
• Lead and facilitate site SH&E improvement plans, monitor progress, and report using established SH&E metrics.
• Manage a system for identifying, investigating, recording, and reporting undesired SH&E events, ensuring corrective actions are taken for regulatory compliance.
• Provide regular communication to all levels of management regarding SH&E issues and performance.
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate SH&E employees, providing leadership to professional, technical, and support staff.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the Responsible Care® Management System in line with RC14001® technical specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or University degree in Environmental or Safety Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of related experience, including prior leadership or supervisory experience.
