About the role

Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for all environmental, health, and safety programs at the Clinton facility. This role ensures compliance with Mondi Group SHE standards and U.S. regulatory requirements, while fostering sustainability, and continuous improvement. SHE Manager collaborates across departments to strengthen engagement, reduce risk, and support long-term operational excellence aligned with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems. This position has SHE responsibility for the Clinton, PA plant.

Responsibilities

• Leadership & Culture: Champion Mondi’s Lead for Safety culture and core values of Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork; drive employee engagement through safety observations, recognition programs, and SHE communication; facilitate SHE Engagement Boards and site-level initiatives promoting proactive hazard identification and learning from near misses.
• Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations, as well as Mondi Group SHE requirements; lead and maintain ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification processes, including internal audits and management reviews; manage permitting and reporting for air, water, and hazardous waste (SPCC, SARA, RCRA, CAA, NESHAP, DOT); evaluate workplace hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
• Incident Prevention & Investigation: Oversee incident investigations using root cause analysis tools (5-Why, Fishbone, Bowtie) to determine systemic causes; track corrective actions in ESDMS and ensure timely closure verification; communicate lessons learned across the Americas region to promote shared learning and prevent recurrence.
• Training & Engagement: Develop and execute annual SHE training plans, ensuring compliance with Mondi standards and legal requirements; deliver and/or coordinate training on key risk areas: LOTO
