What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive wellbeing, safety, sustainability and compliance across the business while supporting teams to deliver high standards and continuous improvement.
- Aid in the continued development and maintenance of the Integrated Management System (IMS).
- Support site and senior operational management from all business lines in their respective area of the business on SHE issues, providing suitable advice, assistance and training.
- Promote competence training, ensuring compliance with statutory legislation, disseminating best practice, and carrying out safety conversations, behavioral auditing and site inspections for Health and Safety, Environment and Sustainability Plan, schedule and deliver professional SHE training to site operatives, managers and senior managers, including wider sustainability matters.
- Develop SHE Training packages to support the Integrated Management System (IMS), Pathway System and MPA ‘Safety by Competence' requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SHE legislation, guidance and best practice relevant to industry.
- Support the training department in any other reasonable capacity as directed by the SHE BP or Sustainability Director.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience in cement production industry preferred
- NEBOSH/IEMA Certificate or equivalent
- NEBOSH/IEMA Diploma or equivalent (desired)
- IOSH/IEMA membership (desired)
- Trained in Root Cause Analyses (RCA) techniques (desired)
- Competent in Microsoft 365 software including Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint software
- Good understanding of UK and European SHE regulatory framework (including all waste, air and water legislation)
- Good understanding of management systems including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 45003, ISO 50001 and experience in working with certification bodies
- Preparation of legal documents such as risk assessment, permit applications, proofs of evidence and witness statements
- Knowledge of Hazard and operability studies (HAZOP)
- Knowledge of Construction Design and Management (CDM) and associated regulations
