SharePoint and Power Platform Content Manager (Early Career)
Overview of the Role
Edgewater Federal Solutions, supporting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Environment, Health, Safety & Security (EHSS), is seeking an early-career SharePoint & Power Platform Content Manager with hands-on Microsoft 365 experience. This role supports DOE digital modernization by enhancing collaboration, improving document management, and implementing workflow automation solutions.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of SharePoint Online sites, libraries, and lists across EHSS environments.
- Aid in designing pages, organizing content, and applying metadata to improve search and usability.
- Develop and test Power Automate flows to streamline approvals, notifications, and data collection processes.
- Create Power Apps to capture business data and improve process visibility.
- Afford assistance with Power BI dashboards and data connections for tracking productivity and project metrics.
- Help implement governance standards, including naming conventions, retention labels, and site templates.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT teams to ensure SharePoint and Power Platform solutions meet DOE security and compliance standards.
- Participate in site migrations, metadata updates, and data quality checks to support modernization efforts.
- Provide end-user training, create how-to guides, and support staff on Microsoft 365 best practices.
- Leverage Microsoft Copilot to improve document automation and knowledge discovery.
- Afford assistance with troubleshooting SharePoint access, permissions, and workflow errors.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
- US citizenship required.
- Must possess (or be able to obtain) a DOE Q or DOD Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
- Applicants with an active clearance are strongly preferred.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience with SharePoint Online site management or Microsoft 365 administration.
- Basic understanding of Power Automate, Power Pages, Power Apps, and Power BI tools for business process improvement.
- Familiarity with retention labels and metadata tagging concepts.
- Basic experience with PowerShell or PnP scripting for site updates (preferred).
- Ability to create accessible and user-friendly forms in Microsoft 365 or Adobe Acrobat DC.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable engaging with end users and technical staff.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) or equivalent.
- (Nice to have) Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals (MS-900).
- Basic knowledge of SharePoint governance and information architecture.
- Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility and Adobe Acrobat DC remediation procedures.
- Interest in pursuing PL-100 or PL-200 certification as part of career development.
Benefits
Competitive salary: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00
