Position Summary
The SLP is responsible for delivering community-based services to individuals experiencing an intellectual or developmental disability. Supports are provided in an office setting and include daily living skills, medication administration, transportation, and activities in the community. The SLP receives a monthly payment for room and board and contracts with Habilitative Opportunities for additional programmatic services.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with daily activities such as meal preparation and planning
- Assist individuals, as needed, in skill development in areas like activities of daily living
- Follow appropriate training and supervision to administer medication, in compliance with state regulations and company policies
- Provide personal care, hygiene, and safety assistance
- Facilitate and encourage community involvement by coordinating outings
- Provide and maintain accurate electronic documentation using Therap.
Requirements
- Minimum age of 19 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License and proof of auto insurance
- Successfully complete and pass all background checks, including federal and state criminal background checks, Nebraska Sex Offender Registry, and Nebraska Adult and Child Protective Services Central Registry
- One year experience preferred in:
- Medication Administration
- Medication Aide
Experience Regulations
