PURPOSE
Aid teachers with various instructional, clerical, and student management tasks for special education students in special education or general classrooms.
Work Schedule
School year
Work Hours: Shifts typically between 7:15am and 3:30pm, exact times may vary.

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience working with students with special needs preferred
- Flexible to meet changing student needs
- Strong tutorial skills
- Ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents
- Desire to see young people succeed
- Positive attitude and ability to work independently
- Strong office computer and communication skills
- Knowledge of child guidance principles and practices
- Basic instructional methods and techniques
- Willingness to supervise students in community settings
- Participation in Special Education Department training
- Two years of college experience from an accredited college, a two-year college degree, passed the Para-Pro Assessment, one year or 1000 hours of previous employment in a school or working with children, completed annual school-level evaluations, and completed 48 credit hours of college level classes from an accredited college, or Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials for being considered highly-qualified
