About the Role

Assist teachers with a variety of instructional, clerical, student management, and daily life activities for special education students in special education or general classrooms.

Schedule

School year, typically within the hours of 7:15am and 3:30pm. Exact start and end times may vary based on the needs of the school and the number of hours allocated for the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience working with students with special needs (preferred)
• Flexibility to meet the changing needs of students and strong tutorial skills
• Ability to relate well with students, staff, and parents
• Strong desire to see young people succeed
• Positive attitude and ability to complete tasks independently
• Strong office, computer, oral, and written communication skills
• Knowledge of child guidance principles and practices and basic instructional methods and techniques
• Willingness to supervise students in community settings
• Must participate in training provided by the Special Education Department
