About the role

VMD Corp, an Xcelerate Solutions company, seeks applications for Supervisory Transportation Security Officer (STSO) positions at San Francisco International Airport (SFO).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee screening checkpoint(s) and/or baggage screening operations on a day-to-day basis.
  • Conduct and supervise subordinate employees in conducting security screening of persons, their carry-on and checked baggage/cargo.
  • Foster and develop critical thinking abilities necessary to mitigate security threats.
  • Operate various screening equipment.
  • Communicate and interact with travelers and stakeholders, including pre-shift briefings.
  • Prepare incident reports.
  • Implement updated security screening procedures.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
  • Pass a computerized assessment (pattern recognition and 2D/3D spatial reasoning).
  • Pass a medical evaluation (vision, hearing, and joint mobility exam).
  • Pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Able to work any day, Monday – Sunday, and any shift between 12:00 AM and 11:59 PM.
  • Able to work independently and possess effective decision-making skills.
  • Must have the ability to obtain dual-function certification.

Qualifications

  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, constant standing, lifting, twisting, and bending.

Skills

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to make independent security-based decisions.
  • Knowledge of screening equipment and procedures.

Pay

Ancillary pay range for this position is $44.29-$50.19, determined based on years of service and certifications and in accordance with the Department of Labor Service Contract Act (SCA) wage determination.
