About the role

The Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the provision of compassionate care to aid in the recovery of patients who are victims of sexual assault. This role develops and maintains operational oversight of the SANE program, manages individual providers functioning in the role, ensures compliance with all state and federal regulations, and provides education/support to staff at levels regarding the care of patients who are victims of sexual assault.

Responsibilities

  • Provides clinical care to adult and pediatric victims of sexual assault as needed.
  • Provides leadership and oversight of the SANE Program in a manner that promotes the organization’s purpose and mission.
  • Serves as a centralized contact person for questions / problems; provides technical assistance; researches and incorporates national best practices into all policies and procedures; ensures consistency among SANE programs at the Hyde Park Campus and Ingalls Campus.
  • Collaborates with multi-disciplinary SANE partners; participates in relevant statewide meetings to ensure that sexual assault patient needs and SANE guidelines are addressed.
  • Supports community education, public outreach, and develops partnerships with outside agencies.
  • Oversees clinical precept opportunities; oversees nursing CE applications for training events.
  • Coordinates and strengthens communication and collaboration among the multi-disciplinary SANE partners.
  • Participates in continuous quality improvement process; identifies SANE related issues to be examined, participates in data collection and analysis.
  • Supports the initiation and implementation of necessary changes in patient centered care delivery through the sharing of research, current trends, and authority as an expert practitioner.
  • Promotes utilization of research findings by making appropriate recommendations for change in policies, procedures, and practice.
  • Collects data for submission to regulatory bodies.
  • Coordinates the revision and implementation of the Sexual Assault Treatment Plan.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing or higher
  • Current Illinois RN license
  • Active BLS Certification through American Heart Association
  • Current Illinois certification as a SANE-A and SANE-P (or have certification completed within 18 months of hire)
  • Three years nursing experience, preferably in the emergency setting.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Nursing; BSN degree or higher preferred
  • Two years of leadership experience preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
  • Experience with patient advocacy and trauma-informed care
  • Knowledge of state and federal regulations related to sexual assault care

Pay

The pay range for this position is [Insert Range Here]. Final compensation will be determined based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.

Schedule

This position is a 100% onsite opportunity. The shift is Day Shift.
