Summary The Sewing Machine Operator will add value to Superior Recreational Products by maximizing the quality, efficiency, and fulfillment of our products and sewing services. This position has no supervisory duties. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Operate industrial sewing machines using multiple types of fabrics and threadsMeet or exceed consistent daily and weekly output while following quality guidelinesEnsure integrity and quality of product in accordance with quality standardsInspect and repair finished products as needed and adjust the machine as needed to prevent quality issuesPerform housekeeping tasks required to maintain a clean and orderly workspaceMaintain compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies and proceduresPerform other duties as assigned Preferred Qualifications Guide fabric or parts under machine needles and presser feet to sew parts togetherInspect products and examine products to locate defects or damage, and mark errors ferred Qualifications:as necessaryMonitor machine operation to detect problems such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunctionsPerform equipment maintenance tasks such as replacing needles, or cleaning and oiling sewing machinesPlace spools of thread on spindles, insert bobbins, and thread ends through machine guides and componentsPosition items under needles, using marks on machines, clamps, templates, or cloth as guidesSelect supplies such as thread, according to job requirements Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Education And/or Experience GED/High School Diploma Work Environment And Physical Requirements This position is based in a plant environment where proper PPE will be required while performing tasks and duties. The position requires walking and standing for prolonged periods. As part of the regular duties of the job, this position requires the use of hands and fingers to handle, feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. This position regularly lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds.
