About the role
The Sewer Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the operation of the wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment to maintain a clean and healthy environment. This position reports directly to the Director of Public Works and works independently to develop and implement operational strategies.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the wastewater treatment plant
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and standards
- Oversee maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facilities
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Collaborate with other departments to address water quality issues
- Train and mentor staff members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wastewater treatment plant operations
- Valid Georgia driver’s license
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
