About the Role

This position is within the Special Education department and is designated as hard to fill. The tentative start date is August 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure inclusive and effective educational practices.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor behavioral and academic interventions and accommodations.
  • Maintain accurate student records, progress reports, and compliance documentation as required by federal, state, and district regulations.
  • Conduct assessments and participate in IEP meetings to determine student eligibility, goals, and services.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, strategies, and resources.

Requirements

  • Valid Colorado teaching license with Special Education endorsement, or eligibility to obtain one prior to start.
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities in a K-12 setting.
  • Knowledge of special education law, IEP development, and evidence-based instructional practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

Schedule & Pay

  • 8 hours per day, 185 days per year.
  • Position begins August 1, 2026.
  • Compensation is based on the district's licensed salary schedule and is commensurate with experience and education level.
