About the role
The Settlements Officer will be a pivotal member of the finance team in Trading and Shipping, responsible for overseeing settlements and finance function in the US office. The appointed individual will:
Key responsibilities
- Monitor due dates to ensure timely receipt and issuance of invoices
- Validate and process invoices covering purchases and sales, freight, ancillary charges, and demurrage.
- Clear receipts and payments and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
- Deliver accurate, timely financial reports and manage assigned financial functions.
- Perform additional duties as required by the line manager.
Skills & Experience
- Diploma or higher in Accounting / Business / Finance
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Settlements or Finance in the Oil and Gas industry
- Knowledge of accounting principles
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experience with SAP and CTRM system
- Meticulous, hands-on and pay attention to details
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated, can successfully identify process improvements
- Understanding of commodity trading life cycle
- Understanding on basic contract law
