SETSS Special Education Teacher - Manhattan

Knowledge Road is hiring NYS‑certified Special Education Teachers to work as SETSS providers on a 1099 basis in Manhattan. The role supports independent, parochial, charter, and homeschooled students through a New York City DOE contract, delivering IEP‑ and IESP‑mandated services.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver one‑to‑one or small‑group SETSS instruction aligned to each student’s IEP or IESP goals.
• Keep session notes and complete required documentation.
• Complete progress reports as required.
• Communicate with the school, the family, and the student’s team.
• Attend IESP meetings for the students you work with.

How Cases Work

Before you accept a case you receive the school, grade, schedule, group size, and hourly rate details. You decide whether to take it. Cases are typically during the school day, with some after‑school and occasional weekend sessions. You submit your sessions at the end of each month and are paid by direct deposit, generally within about a week.

Pay

• 1 student: $60 /hour
• 2 students: $70 /hour
• 3‑4 students: $75 /hour
• 5‑8 students: $100 /hour

Requirements

• NYS certification in Students with Disabilities (B‑2, 1‑6, 7‑12, or All Grades).
• Availability to work in Manhattan.
• Cannot have been employed by the NYC Department of Education within the past year (special approval required if applicable).
