Job Summary

About the role

The Set-Up Technician under the direction of the Lead Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for completing mold changes, rehangs, and pulling molds for repairs and conversions. They ensure all set-up procedures are followed and maintain a clean, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Properly install and water all molds on all presses.
• Housekeeping tasks such as returning unused supplies and auxiliary equipment to appropriate locations.
• Remove all parts from previous jobs.
• Ensure proper tying up of water lines to prevent rubbing or bursting.
• Properly shut down machines using the correct purge compound.
• Aid in maintaining HellermannTyton's certifications by supporting corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.
• Present problems or potential issues to the Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of mold set up.
• Ability to assist in training employees.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to pull up to 120 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and work for up to 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand tools.
• Ability to read and understand diagrams.
• Demonstrated time management skills.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Excellent mechanical skills.
• Must be able to lift and push up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to pull up to 120 lbs.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and work for up to 12-hour shifts.

Skills

• Understanding of the effects of water flow on molds.
• Thorough knowledge of production procedures and work instructions.
• Thorough knowledge of the operation of all auxiliary equipment.
• Ability to read water maps and water tools.
• Properly purge machines and operate forklifts.
