MSC1090H F Introduction to Computational Biostatistics with R
Please note that this position represents a 0.25 FCE Sessional Lecturer appointment. Two Sessional Lecturers will jointly deliver the course. The successful candidate will share instructional responsibilities with another Sessional Lecturer and will teach half of the course.
The goal of this class is to prepare graduate students to perform scientific data analysis. Successful students will learn how to use statistical inference tools to gain insight into their data, as well as be exposed to techniques and best practices to store, manage and analyze data.

Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 to December 31, 2026
Qualifications
- PhD degree in Statistics/Biostatistics or Mathematics or related discipline
- Solid understanding of programming with R, machine learning algorithms, and data structures
- Demonstrated effective teaching experience in a college or university setting
- Prior experience teaching computational biostatistics and graduate students preferred
Duties
- Preparation and delivery of course content
- Development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams
- Calculation and submission of grades
- Holding regular office hours
